It's come down to a final 16 teams from our inital group.
The President's League
In his initial matchup, a dominant Upper Decker slaughtered Breesus, King of the Drews. The two initial President's League matchups absolutely failed to inspire, and T Mike becomes the first to fall on the way to the playoffs. Upper Decker faces a Mirthmobile team that isn't what it once was, but is still more than capable of knocking off a team or two.
In the Rippers first matchup of the playoffs, The Dictators absolutely collapsed, with only Le'Veon Bell and Dan Bailey getting over 10 points, and the Saint's managed to score -8. When matched against a dominant Sullivan team, it wasn't even a contest. Sullivan faces his most difficult matchup of the season, a Logan led team that is the season points winner.
The Royal Purple League
Beats By Ray turned in the kind of performance a 6-7 team needs to make a dent into the playoffs, taking out a respectably scoring Team Jeanrack team with an absolutely devastating corps of DeMarco Murray, CJ Anderson, and Megatron. He is going to need that kind of production when facing Never Say Wombat, the Royal Purple highest scoring team.
#4 Team TIEDS vs # 1 Las Tortugas
Team TIEDS, although an early season candidate for quickest burnout, has slowly and surely made a resurgence, exemplified by his convincing win last week. Considering that Las Tortugas scored 190 points last week and starts Wilson, Lynch, Le'Veon, A. Brown, ODBJr, and Eddie Lacy in the flex, he's going to need an act of God to make it through.
The White League
Tex lays sweet revenge upon the Redhawks this week, beating them by almost 60 points. Swamp Donkeys looks to be the weakest of the number one seeds, and could very well be our first major upset of the year.
#6 California Boat Rockers vs # 2 Back Alley Bootleggers
So far, Ward had the closest win of the first round, but was still a team that put up almost 140 points. The Back Alley Bootleggers, much like the Swamp Donkeys, put up a much less convincing argument for their seed than would be expected. I fully expect the White League to have at least one, if not two, upsets this week.
The Gold League
#4 Somali Pirates vs # 1 Dirty Mike and the Boys
The Somali Pirates managed to beat the Barking Spiders last week while starting the following people : DeSean Jackson and Julius Thomas. This points more to the complete collapse of Juice's team rather than the dominance of TJs. This week won't be a walk in the park, as the Pirates face one of the hardest matchups in the league - a team with only one loss under it's belt.
#6 Quad Bangarang vs # 2 Here's To Lincoln
In what was probably the best first round matchup, Quad Bangarang defeated Team You Knowshon 166.8 to 151.8. Sadly for You Knowshon, he would have pretty much won in any other matchup of the week. Bangarang looks to repeat this against a quiet Lincoln team, who has made an under the radar surge into the #2 seed. Although he's completely absent from the chat and comment section, he's been paying quite a bit of attention and looks to repeat a 2011 surge of good play.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
